		<description>Hi Jennifer!

I heard you needed some suggestions about good programs to visit on your journey. I would specifically recommend the following - Denver: Urban Peaks, Detroit - Ruth Ellis Center (one of the few shelter programs in the nation focused on serving LGBTQ youth), Chicago - two different agencies are both strong, La Casa Norte (Latino focused youth housing, ask for Ex. Dir. Flor) and Teen Living Program (expanding transitional and supportive housing for youth that incorporates a mental health component for well-being, ask for Dr. Ozella Phillips), Cleveland - Lighthouse Youth Services (excellent spectrum of shelter and housing options - ask for Mark Kroner). I grew up in Iowa and would recommend Youth Emergency Services in Des Moines and United Action for Youth in Iowa City.

I hope this helps! I think what you&#039;re doing is fantastic and inspiring! Keep up your energy! Keep me in touch for when you think you&#039;ll arrive in DC!
